Verified customers concern. Scanned for codes – received B0790 (transfer case range indicator control circuit low voltage/open). Performed a bay test of the automatic 4×4 circuit with scan tool attached and found signal from the dash switch very erratic. We isolated the switch and found it's signal switching between 2wd and 4wd with vehicle not moving. Recommend replacing the switch before diagnosis continues. Ok'd to proceed. After repairs we cleared the code and test drove without incident. .
Installed new transfer case switch. .

Verified customers concern. Hoisted for inspection. Appears vehicle made contact with something about half way between rear differential and the transfer case, marks go from the right to left side. Obvious damage is the rear driveshaft broken, right rear shock absorber and muffler dented, and the fuel tank scuffed. Those issues will have to be addressed before test driving the vehicle to see if any other issues arise. Ok'd to proceed. After repairs we test drove the vehicle without incident. .
Installed new muffler. .
Installed new drive shaft. .
Replaced the fuel tank. Fuel pump was swollen and wouldn't come out of the old tank – broke while attempting. We reassembled with a new fuel tank. .
Installed new rear shock absorbers. .

Verified vehicle cranks but won't start. Initial inspection showed the air intake boot connecting the mass air flow sensor to the engine was missing. Air intake tube was located inside the cab. When we went to install the tube we noted the fuel bleeder screw by the primer was leaking fuel – was loose. We tightened the bleeder and primed the system. Vehicle started and ran. Noted the Check Engine Light was on – we scanned for codes and received P0420 (catalyst system low bank 1). Let the vehicle run and inspected for additional fuel leaks – none found. Let vehicle sit for several hours to cool off – continued to restart properly. Test drove without incident. Let sit overnight – restarted properly in the morning. Let sit until afternoon and vehicle continued to start properly. Monitoring fuel pressures thru the scan tool everything is within spec. Test drove again and reinspected for any fuel leaks – none found. .
