  • When we entered the vehicle it started and ran, noted the Check Engine Light was on. Scanned for codes and received P00C6 (fuel rail pressure), P025A (fuel pump module A circuit), P06E9 (engine starter performance), U0109 (communication with fuel pump control module), P0702 (transmission control system), U3003 (battery voltage), U0952 (invalid data), U0151 (communication restraint control module), B110A (rear door locking motor), B1C37 (master lock switch circuit shorted to ground), B10C0 (fuel pump power supply shorted to ground), B10E7-12 (injection relay shorted to ground). Vehicle ran properly in the shop for about 15 minutes then died. When tested we had a loss of continuity thru the main wiring harness. We disassembled the passenger side of the vehicle to access the wiring harness and found where there had been water intrusion and damage to the harness with exposed wiring (picture provided to customer). We repaired the individual wires in the harness using heat shrink to seal. Added protection the harness and reassembled. Cleared codes and ran the vehicle – ran in the shop for an hour. Test drove without incident – vehicle ran properly and no codes reset. .

  • Initial inspection showed one belt off and antifreeze covering the engine bay. Inspecting the belt pulleys we noted the water pump bearing is bad and the pulley flopping around. Recommend replacing the water pump and belts before diagnosis continues. Ok'd to proceed. After repairs we were unable to get the upper radiator hose quick connects to reseal – recommend replacing both sections of the upper radiator hose. Ok'd to replace. After repairs we test drove the vehicle without incident. .
  • Installed new water pump, thermostat, belts, and upper radiator hoses. Refilled with fresh antifreeze and bled the cooling system. .

  • Driving the vehicle into the shop the vehicle was jerking. We scanned the modules for codes – received P0174 (lean bank 2), P0204 (injector circuit malfunction 4), and P1635 (tire axle ratio out of acceptable range). Monitoring short term fuel trim bank 2 had 16% added. Data shows injector 4 fault. We tested for injector pulse – is good. Ohm tested injectors – cylinder 4 injector is an open circuit, others have higher resistance than spec. Inspecting the drivetrain we noted the front tires are P235/65/17 and the rears 265/65/17 – being all wheel drive the vehicle needs tires the same size on all 4 corners. Recommend replacing the injectors and then visiting a tire store. Ok'd to proceed. After repairs the vehicle appears to run properly. Would like to see the vehicle again after tire replacement for a longer test drive and to clear any drivetrain codes. .
  • Installed new fuel injectors. .
  • Lights operating properly. Cabin air filter is collecting debris – recommend replacing next service. Battery tests good with 695 cold cranking amps, is rated at 650. Drive belt is starting to crack. Some moisture noted around the lower intake and timing cover. Front brakes appear to have 11mm remaining and rears 10mm. Front struts are dry but the left rear is damp. Reset service reminder. .

  • Hoisted for inspection. Verified both front axle output shaft seals are leaking on the transfer case. Checked fluid in the transfer case – was almost empty and has sludge built up in the bottom of the case. Filled with fresh fluid and test drove – transfer case is still making noise. Recommend replacing the transfer case. Ok'd to proceed. After repairs we test drove again – we get a bit of road noise but the transfer case is quiet. .
  • Installed new transfer case with new transmission mating seal, and new exhaust gaskets. While the catalytic converter was out we noted it is starting to break apart internally – several pieces fell out, customer declined replacement at this time. Once reassembled filled transfer case with new lube and topped off the transmission fluid. .
