- Verified customers concern. Scanned for codes – received B0790 (transfer case range indicator control circuit low voltage/open). Performed a bay test of the automatic 4×4 circuit with scan tool attached and found signal from the dash switch very erratic. We isolated the switch and found it's signal switching between 2wd and 4wd with vehicle not moving. Recommend replacing the switch before diagnosis continues. Ok'd to proceed. After repairs we cleared the code and test drove without incident. .
- Installed new transfer case switch. .
- Lights operating properly. Battery tests good with 750 cold cranking amps, is rated at 730. Air filter, belts, and hoses look good. We topped off the coolant, other fluid levels full. Front tires have 10/32 tread remaining and rears 9/32, 40psi. Multiple hoses including for rear heater have dried coolant residue present. Front brakes appear to have 6mm remaining and rears 8mm. Drivetrain, steering, and suspension appear intact. Reset service reminder. .
- Verified customers concern. By manipulating the switch we were able to engage the heater – is operating properly. Switch is bad and will have to be replaced to repair. .
