Scanned the modules for codes – received P0740 (torque converter clutch out of range/open) and P0868 ( transmission line pressure low). Inspected the transmission fluid – is full and in good condition. Tested the line pressure – has 119psi, should be 134. Tested volume required for low/reverse – is at 84 (spec is 16-63), gears 2-4 are at 73 (spec is 16-54). Transmission is not building proper pressure properly and the torque converter clutch has shudder. Recommend rebuilding the transmission. .

Lights operating properly. Battery tests good – appears fairly new. Air filter, belt, and hoses look ok. We topped off the transmission fluid – left axle seal is leaking. Other fluid levels full. Tires have 7/32 tread remaining, 38 psi. Front brakes have 6mm remaining, rears are at service limit. Noted bolts rusted off an exhaust flange. Steering, suspension, and CV axles appear intact. Reset service reminder. .
Drilled out rusted bolts and cleaned flange. Reassembled with new bolts. .
Installed new rear brake pads and rotors.. .
When removed the axle to access the seal we found the support bearing on the inner axle damaged and bearings gone, assume this allowed movement which damaged the seal. Recommend replacing inner axle during repairs. Ok'd to proceed. Installed new seal and inner axle. .

Verified customers concern. Scanned modules for codes – received P0304 (misfire cylinder 4). Tested the ignition coil for cylinder 4 – is bad. Knowing that worn spark plugs are the number one cause of coil failure we removed the spark plug and found it has a gap of 0.55", maximum spec is .043". Recommend replacing the spark plugs and ignition coil before diagnosis continues. Ok'd to proceed. After repairs we cleared the code and test drove without incident – vehicle ran properly and no codes set. .
Installed new spark plugs and 1 ignition coil. Reassembled with a new plenum gasket. .
